Biography

Edoardo Miranda is an American actor and writer born in New York City and raised in Milan, Italy. His early passion for film was nurtured by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Umberto Contarello and director Andrea Costantini, who encouraged him to pursue acting in the United States. He returned to New York to train at The Stella Adler Acting Studio, graduating in 2018.

Miranda's breakout role came in the acclaimed film For Lila (2025). His intense portrayal of Sal De Leon earned him multiple acting awards, including a 2025 nomination for Best Actor of the Season at the Independent Shorts Awards alongside Tate Donovan and Andrew Howard. His additional film credits include playing Peter the Disciple in Eating with the Enemy (narrated by Kevin Sorbo) where he played Peter the Disciple, and starring opposite Kazy Tauginas in The Fox. On stage, Miranda appeared as Maestro in The Last Boy at The Town Hall. As a creator, he wrote, produced, and directed the play Goodville for the New York Theater Festival's Winterfest 2020 and authored the semi-autobiographical novel The Boy Who Laughs.

Alongside his artistic career, he holds a degree in psychology from Brooklyn College and has worked extensively as a clinical researcher at the McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School and as a behavioral health specialist.

Miranda is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, conversational in French, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole, and actively volunteers in suicide prevention. He is also a poet and martial artist.

His stage name (Edoardo Miranda) is in honor of his grandmother Miranda Bramani, an avid film lover.

Worked as a Samaritans suicide prevention hotline volunteer.

He worked as a clinical research assistant and research coordinator at several Brooklyn College labs and at the McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School under his legal name. He is particularly interested in addiction, psychosis and psychopathy to better understand and address barriers to treatment.

In 2025, Edoardo Miranda was nominated for Best Actor of the Season at the Independent Shorts Awards for his role in For: LiLa. He shared the category with Andrew Howard, while veteran actor Tate Donovan won the award.
