Joanie Ellen was born on September 12, 1978 in New York City, New York, USA. She is an actress, known for Sons of Anarchy (2008), Max Payne (2001) and Law & Order (1990).

As a company member of the Obie award winning Flea Theater,she was directed in numerous plays by artistic director Jim Simpson (husband of Sigourney Weaver).

The New York Times called her performance, "irresistibly, and often painfully, seductive".
