Known for his award-winning and often provocative short films on hot topic issues from Greenland, Inuk has been making home movies and short animations since childhood and even today has a focus on aesthetic images and personal stories that touch upon the identity, history, and culture of the Inuit people. His films have been shown at more than 200 film festivals worldwide and on every continent, including Antarctica, winning awards in as diverse countries as the U.S., Norway, Finland, India, Canada, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, and Greenland. As a story supervisor, producer and as a consultant Inuk has been involved in the development of several international projects related to his home country.

Today he is an advocate for Indigenous storytelling in film, sits on the board of directors of the Greenlandic filmmakers' association (Film.GL) and on the steering committee for ARTEF (Anti Racism Think Tank for European Film). While he has won praise for his own films Inuk has been teaching film for more than a decade and has been involved in several film workshops and festivals all around the Nordic countries helping young people learn about filmmaking. He holds a Master's Degree in film studies from the University of Aarhus (Denmark), is a voting member of the European Film Academy, and an EAVE Producers Workshop graduate.

The Bottle Cleaner (2006), his final short film at the film studies program at the University of Aarhus won him and his production team awards for Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and the Audience Choice Award at the annual Information- and Mediastudies festival, IMV Awards of 2007.
Awarded the first ever Best Short Film award at Nuuk International Film Festival for Hedtoft (2019). A work-in-progress version of the film was screened at the festival in September of 2019.
Was a jury member on the youth oriented Oregon Filmfestival - a forerunner to the Next Film Festival - Denmark (2013-2014).
His shortfilm Home (2018) won the award for Best Cinematography at Kyiv Film Festival 2020 which was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Inuk admitted in an interview that he did not believe he would have won had the festival been held at its usual venue and not online due to the varying quality of the cameras used during the production of the film.
