Govindbhai Patel was an Indian filmmaker associated with Gujarati cinema as a film director, producer, and writer. He was originally from Nakara village in Gujarat and later moved to Keshod. He subsequently settled permanently in Vadodara, Gujarat, where he continued his work in the Gujarati film industry.
Patel was associated with G.N. Films (Keshod), his film production banner, and was involved in the production of several Gujarati films under the banner. During the early struggling years of their careers, film directors such as Mehul Kumar, Abbas and Mustan, and Indra Kumar worked in Govindbhai Patel's Gujarati films. They later established themselves in Bollywood and gained recognition as prominent film directors.
His notable Gujarati films include Dhola Maru (1983),Hiran Ne Kanthe (1984), Moti Verana Chawk Ma (1987), Iconic Film Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya (1998) ,Ahmedabad Palanpur Via Kadi Kalol (2007), and Dholi Taro Dhol Waage (2008). Through his work as a director, producer, and writer, Patel made a notable contribution to Gujarati cinema.
