Peter Mattei(I)

Peter Mattei is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker, novelist, playwright and television series creator. He has written and directed experimental theater in New York, directed a feature that premiered at Sundance and was produced by Robert Redford, directed and starred in a hybrid doc series for AMC, penned a dark comedic novel about the world of American advertising, and created an acclaimed TV series about a group of off-the-grid rogues fighting Big Coal on behalf of the earth (OUTSIDERS, currently on Hulu.) His 2014 novel THE DEEP WHATSIS (Other Press) was called a "red hot debut" by Publishers Weekly and published in six languages. In 2023 Mattei wrote and directed the acclaimed audio drama series SONARIUS: THE MYSTERIES OF M, an Audible Original. He also wrote/directed an experimental feature film, THE END OF NOWHERE, which has played festivals in Japan, France, Hungary, New York, Italy and the UK. He is a graduate of Brown and the Yale School of Drama and currently lives in northern California and Austin.
