Margaret Hermant is a violinist, harpist and composer based in Brussels, who graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
She is a member founder of Echo Collective, Quatuor MP4 and BOW quintet with whom she bounded with beautiful artists.
Alongside with Echo Collective, she has recorded and performed with composers including Adam Witlzie, Christina Vantzou, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Dustin O'Halloran, Rutger Hoedemaekers, where she has helped bring to life some of the most revered works of post classical music.
She composes in close collaboration with Echo Collective, BOW quintet and the sound engineer & producer Fabien Leseure.
Her work starts always with a musical gesture, improvising, playing drones and looking for new sounds to experiment.
As a solo composer Margaret Hermant makes soundtracks, music for theater pieces and dance performance, where she uses mostly harp, processing harp and violin.
