Punit Balan is a multi-faceted personality an entrepreneur, filmmaker, social worker, and sports enthusiast. He serves as the Trustee and Festival Head of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati Trust, Pune. He has also been appointed as the President of the Late Laxmibai Dagdusheth Halwai Datta Mandir Trust, Pune, and as the President of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI). His leadership across religious, social, and sporting institutions reflects his commitment to community development and the promotion of Indian culture and sports.
He is the owner of various sports teams, including Pune Jaguars (Tennis), Mumbai Khiladis (Kho Kho), Maharashtra Ironmen (Handball), and teams in Premier Badminton and Table Tennis. He has extended financial support to talented and deserving athletes from various parts of India, helping them pursue excellence in their respective sports.
Punit Balan established several schools in Kashmir with the support of the Indian Army and played a key role in unveiling a 150-foot-high Indian tricolour in Kashmir.
He extended financial support to numerous Ganesh Mandals whose activities were severely affected during the COVID 19 pandemic.
During the COVID 19 crisis, he helped countless people by supporting relief initiatives and extending assistance to those in need.
