Aled Owen is a Welsh actor, writer, director and producer from Carmarthen, Wales. He studied Foundation Art at the Carmarthen School of Art, and later Filmmaking at the Northern Film School, Leeds Beckett University. He is a published prose writer as well as an award-nominated screenwriter. His feature debut as a writer, director and producer, Scopophobia (2024), was shot on a self-raised shoestring budget under his own production company Melyn Pictures Ltd, founded in 2021.
