Biography

Ilias Stamatiou was a Greek actor and theatrical translator. He was active in theatre from the mid-1940s to the early 1970s, appearing in numerous productions of the National Theatre of Greece, where he built a steady stage presence over nearly three decades. Alongside his theatrical work, he also contributed to Greek cinema, appearing in several films from the 1940s through the 1970s in a variety of supporting and leading roles. In addition to acting, he worked as a translator of theatrical works, contributing to the adaptation and presentation of stage texts in Greece.
