Biography

Alexander Hogg is an English actor, writer, composer and producer who is originally from the West Midlands. He trained with the Oscar-Winning actress and writer Rachel Shenton from 2013 - 2024 and is training at The University of Chichester Conservatoire gaining a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre (Triple Threat).

Since making his professional debut at the age of eleven in The Wolverhampton Grand's in-house production of the stage adaptation of Brassed Off (1996) in 2017, Alex has gone from strength to strength enjoying a career that has so far covered everything from plays, to musical theatre, commercials and feature films.

During the Christmas period of 2017, Alex made his professional musical theatre debut playing the principle role of Ollie as well as Child Gordon Shakespeare and the Oakmoor pupil Rupert in the world premiere production of Debbie Isitt's Nativity! The Musical - based on her smash hit film Nativity! (2009) on a UK tour.

After this, Alex returned to The Wolverhampton Grand to appear in their production of Amanda Whittington's Ladies' Day. During the run of this show, Hogg was also rehearsing to appear in Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat at Kilworth House Theatre over the Summer of 2018.

Once these two productions were over, Alex returned to the Nativity! franchise to film Nativity Rocks! (2018) in which he played one of the leading St Bernadette's class members.

Staying in the Nativity! world once more, he returned to Nativity! The Musical to reprise his roles of Ollie and Child Gordon Shakespeare later that year.

Next, Alex made another return as he featured in another production of Joseph. This time the show was playing The Birmingham Hippodrome and was produced by legendary theatrical impresario Bill Kenwright.

Nativity! The Musical was calling Alex once again as he toured with the production for a third time in 2019 playing the same roles as he did the previous year.

In 2020, at the height of the corona-virus lock down, Alex filmed on location in Belgium for the AXA Insurance - '#KnowYouCan' Commercial (2021) in which he portrayed a bullied boy.

Since this, Alex has filmed another commercial. This time he appeared in the Lidl - Big on British Commercial (2022) as a cricket umpire. He can also been seen in this same role in Lidl's Big on a British Summer commercial.

In October 2025, he filmed a leading role in a new short co-written and directed by Andrey Khvostov.

Alex made his writing, composing and producing debut with For King and Country (2026) which released one episode a week for four weeks beginning on Friday 6th March 2026. He also plays Barney in all episodes of the series.

Alex plays Lackey in Kit (2026) by Lottie Amor for the Academy Award-Winning company Slick Films. The film premiered at Cleveland International Film Festival on 12th April 2026.

In December 2025, Alex returned to Belgium to make his music video debut in Gener8ion & Yung Lean: Storm (2026). The video was released to an overwhelmingly positive reception on 24th April 2026 along with the two tracks featured in the video which was directed by renowned French director Romain Gavras.

In July 2026, Alex reunited with For King and Country (2026) director, A.D.M. Moore to appear as Kane in his film Blank Page. As well as leading the cast, Alex composed the film's score and came on board as a producer.
