His journey in the world of filmmaking began as an assistant to a seasoned natural history cameraman. Fueled by a thirst for adventure, he achieved PADI dive instructor certification in 2015, leading him to explore the mesmerizing underwater world. With a remarkable tally of over 3500 dives, including a role as a dive manager on the luxury yacht Kalizma, Sukesh has finely honed his skills in capturing captivating imagery. His talent has earned recognition in the branded content sphere and has secured him repeat collaborations on feature films and network television projects.
Previously, Sukesh served as a creative producer and Director of Photography at a prominent digital lifestyle and adventure sports content agency in India. Presently, he is an independent cinematographer and the founder and executive producer of Makara Pictures.
Sukesh has made significant contributions as the second unit Director of Photography on a variety of projects, including "Fursat" (shot on iPhone for Apple), "Rocket Boys" (SonyLIV), "Monica O My Darling" (Netflix), "Indian Predator" (Netflix), and "Badhaai Do" (theatrical release).
Among his principal Director of Photography credits is the independent feature film "Tamso / Suburban Tale," produced by Drishyam Films, which is making rounds at film festivals and was selected at the Fantastic Fest in Austin. Additionally, he has worked on a mockumentary fiction web series produced by Viacom 18, currently in the post-production stage.
2023 October Sukesh is engaged in filming a high-octane treasure hunt and action-adventure web series for Hotstar.
He is also recognised as a Canon EOS Maestro and holds membership in the Society of Camera Operators guild as an Associate.
