- Born in 1955 in Birmingham Mark trained at Stratford college of FE under Gordon Vallins before training at Birmingham School of Speech and Drama. Left after one year to tour with Marius Goring(1974) . He then joined the Oxford Playhouse under Nick Kent and Derby Playhouse with Mark Woolgar and the Belgrade Theatre Coventry.. After his stint with rep companies did fringe work in London and Edinburgh...then moved on to film work. In 2024 Mark played Odin in the medieval fantasy film The Barn working alongside Kate Winslet.The film has gone on to win many International awards. Mark is married to Annie and lives in Sussex. His eldest son James is a film producer, middle son Chris was lead guitarist with Flies Are Spies From Hell an acclaimed post rock band,.. playing with new band Winter At Sea... and youngest son Tom is a builder.
