Oscar Zemarti is a Peruvian writer/director, cinematographer and film producer working between Latin America and Europe. Across fiction, documentary and animation, his work is drawn to geographic, political and historical peripheries approached with a poetic eye.
His features in development include The Hare, a political thriller set in Lima, and Offscreen: A Handful of War Tales, nominated at the Nordic Wave Pitch (Stockholm International Film Festival, 2024).
As a cinematographer, his most recent credit is Time Will Not Tell (72'), selected for IFFR Rotterdam 2026.
Over more than a decade he has worked across nearly every department of production (and in programming, distribution and localization) a breadth that lets him approach each project with precision from the very first idea.
An award-winning writer, he has been recognized by Peru's Ministry of Culture in play-writing and poetry.
