Vincent Eckert - Portrait - Camerimage 2022

Biography

Vincent Eckert

Biography

  • Vincent Eckert is a cinematographer based in Berlin and working worldwide. Growing up in an artist family in the Black Forest (Germany), Vincent developed a natural sensitivity to light and color. Already in his childhood, he began shooting films (winning the German Youth Film Award and the German Multimedia Award).

After completing his high school diploma with a focus on design and media technology, Vincent began training in the program at Bavaria Film, which only accepts 4 out of 400 applicants. He studied cinematography at the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Vincent's work has been recognized with over 40 awards and 130 film festival nominations, including at the Oscar-accredited LA Shorts International Festival. He was nominated at Camerimage in 2022 and twice shortlisted for "Best Cinematography" at the Clio Awards in 2023 and 2024. Aditionally, his projects have earned accolades at Ciclope, AICP, Young Director Award, Andys, Spotlight, Dok Leipzig, Disff, Bogo Shorts, Aesthetica and the New York Advertising Awards.

Using 3D programs, he precisely plans tricky shots and playfully explores innovative approaches. This structured planning allows him to work efficiently on set, knowing exactly what's needed to create captivating and storytelling visuals.
