Maynard Bagang

Maynard Bagang is a Filipino-American actor and was born in Angeles City, Philippines. A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering graduate from Holy Angel University, Philippines. He retired as a Police Officer in Las Vegas, Nevada and was awarded by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department the Medal of Honor for rescuing a hostage while taking fire during a robbery shooting. He also served and retired in the US Navy as a Mechanical & Nuclear Engineer. Maynard is an Iraq war veteran. He was certified as a Nuclear Technician by Counter-Terrorism Operations Support (CTOS) at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Maynard also trained Karate in Tokyo, Japan where he attained the rank of a Yon Dan (4th degree) Blackbelt under the Japan Karate Association. He was the 2013 and 2014 Western States Karate Champion. Maynard is a USA Team member who competed at the 16th Karate World Championship Tournament in 2024 in Tokyo, Japan. Maynard is an Inspector for the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Maynard started his acting career in 2018 and became a member of SAG-AFTRA. Some of his highlighted work are from the television series' In The Shadows. His movie highlights are Starstruck, where he played alongside Eddie McClintock, In The Shadows, and I'll Be There, where he played alongside Jasmin Batchelor, Dorien Wilson, Victoria Kelleher, Alkaio Theile, and Celestina Harris. His short drama film,The Business Trip, gave him his first Best Actor Awards at the 2024 Hong Kong Indie Film Festival and at the 2023 Kansas City Independent Film Festival. Maynard also appeared in the documentary film Wristlock: The Martial Arts' Influence on Police Use of Force. Maynard made his first directorial debut in his Short film, The Sanctuary, where he won Best Director at the Indie Vegas Film Festival. He also wrote, produced, and directed his first feature film, The Sanctuary (2026) where he played as a Lead Actor and won the Silver Telly at the 47th Telly Awards in 2026 for Film/General-Drama.
