- Revealed in TV Quick magazine in 1994 that his audition to play Matt the lifeguard in EastEnders involved him and the other contestants appearing in swimwear for the casting team. Walton was the only auditonee to wear baggy shorts, with all the others choosing Speedos; something he worried would count against him when he saw the other contenders. Surprised to be told he'd won the part, Walton then purchased a pair of Speedos after liking the look on the other auditionees.
