Biography

Carrie Thiel is known for Deep Rising (1998), Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and Superman Returns (2006).

Member of the Weta Digital effects team that won 3 Oscars and 2 Baftas for their work on 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy.

Carrie has a BFA in acting from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada (1997). She previously studied international relations at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada.

We didn't have the luxury of big sets and costumes in mocap, so we would have to create the scenery and circumstances in our heads, fighting imaginary enemies and reacting to imaginary blows and threats.

I went to New Zealand in June 1999 for a seven-week contract. Four-and-a-half years later I finished my work on The Lord of the Rings.
