Robin D. Stanton was born and brought up in Indonesia, an archipelagic country between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. He has roots in the Tibetan, Bhutanese, German, and Irish ethnicities. He was also told that his maternal grandmother was of Jewish descent even though his family was not observant and never explored his Jewish ancestry. Robin was privately educated at a Catholic school as a child although he was never baptized a Catholic. He subsequently moved to Germany and lived there for a few years; the school he went to in North Rhine-Westphalia is ironically located in close proximity to the Cologne Cathedral, which houses The Shrine of the Three Kings. Having earned his German "Hochschulzugangsberechtigung," Robin initially expected to attend college in Europe. His family, however, ended up settling in City of Angels in Southern California.

Growing up, Robin had delayed speech and was a slow reader. Developing an unnecessary inferiority complex, he became used to being shunned by his peers and having few friends. He did not gain confidence in his reading skills until he encountered at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) a Princeton scholar by the name of Professor Kirstie McClure, who convinced him that critical and deep reading would be a useful practice in graduate-level studies. While his passion for art started at an early age, Robin did not begin to explore his artistic side until later on. He became passionate about performing arts when he met a young Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Southern California (USC) who would start tutoring him in classical piano in 2018. Encouraged by his expert tutor two years later, Robin participated in the prestigious World Bach Competition at the Boulder Bach Festival in 2020 and took third place at the event. He also crossed paths with a couple of graduates of The Juilliard School who highly commended his artistic talent around this time.

Robin eventually caught the acting bug and decided to study the craft of acting shortly after. As he started submitting self-tapes of monologues showcasing his acting chops, he began attracting the attention of directors and producers who would cast him in various roles in a number of productions. He was cast by Emmy-winning producer Zachary Weil to play a witty and glib character in Dead Mail (2024), which kicked off its world premiere at SXSW Festival 2024. In the gangster film Jack & Lou: a Gangster Love Story (2025) starring Linda Hamilton, Robin was cast by College Emmy winner Robin Wang in the role of an intimidating and hot-tempered figure. Stanton had a supporting role in the comedy Miami Bici 2 (2023) starring Danny Trejo. On television, he was a supporting cast member of the hugely successful series The Dropout (2022) alongside Amanda Seyfried, Laurie Metcalf, Anne Archer, William H. Macy, Dylan Minnette, and Stephen Fry. With these diverse roles helping establish his reputation as an actor with a commanding presence, Robin is bound to continue delivering as a force to be reckoned with.

Underlying Robin's artistic endeavors is his burning desire to present the audience with masterful storytelling, coupled with his knack for telling interesting stories. He has written screenplays, such as Haze in the Heat of the Sun and One Taste, where he focuses on themes of identity crisis and teen depression. Inspired by his fascination with the piano as a powerful musical instrument, he has also penned stories like Precious Garland and The Echo of Sound where he attempts to show the healing power of classical music. Robin's nose for great storytelling has led him to be engaged on the producing side of show business. The projects he helped executive produce include Neither Donkey Nor Horse (2024), which he felt would resonate with audiences in the post-covid era and ended up winning the Student Academy Award. In 2026, he is co-executive producing the true story of a legendary artist on the autism spectrum; the film stars Anthony Hopkins. In sum, whether in his capacity as actor, writer, or producer, Robin is determined to work consistently to make a memorable impact on audiences worldwide.
