Biography

Harry Pettit was born in August 1913 in West Ham, London, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Treasure at the Mill (1957). He was married to Grace Tingley. He died in August 1958.

He was an illustrator and illustrated Malcolm Saville's novel "Treasure at the Mill" which was filmed as Treasure at the Mill (1957). He and his family appeared under their real names in the film, and their house Spring Valley Mill was used (under that name) in the film.

He lost his left leg from the hip downwards when he was in his teens: he jumped off a moving train, slipped on ice and his leg went under a wheel.
