Biography

Carlos Montemayor was born on June 13, 1947 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a writer and cinematographer, known for Long Sleepless Nights (2000), 1938 (2025) and Sueños de un suicida (2002). He died on February 27, 2010 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.

Member of the Mexican Academy of the Language, he was known for his promotion of the literature of Mexico's indigenous languages.
