Phil Hawkins

Biography

Phil Hawkins

Mini bio

  • Phil Hawkins is an award-winning feature film and commercials director. He's directed countless high profile television campaigns around the world and made seven feature films released by the likes of Sony, Netflix and Lionsgate. From adaptations of Greek tragedy and a YA novel, to comedy satire and psychological thrillers, Phil's work crosses many genres but retains a cinematic and emotional edge.

His first studio feature was "Prancer: A Christmas Tale", starring Oscar-nominated James Cromwell for Universal Pictures & Sky Studios. His latest is "Robin And The Hoods", a family action-adventure starring another Oscar-nominee Naomie Harris, Gwendoline Christie and a huge cast of young actors. Described as "The Goonies" meets "Game Of Thrones" it's won multiple best film and jury prizes.

He also wrote & directed what is probably the most expensive fan film ever made. "Star Wars Origins" was a passion project shot on location in the Sahara Desert that took three years to make. It combines his love of the action-adventure genre, Star Wars and Indiana Jones in a unique re-telling of the beginnings of the saga. Highly praised by Mark Hamill himself, it's been critically acclaimed as an "epic masterpiece".
