New York-born Burton began her career as a child dancer, performed on
Broadway and, after relocating to Hollywood, danced in a few films.
When her dance career slowed in the '60s, she began working for an
agent and then became an independent agent herself. She helped launch
the careers of child actors River Phoenix, Henry Thomas and others.
