- Bernd Meinunger was born on September 30, 1944 in Meiningen, Gau Thuringia, Germany. He was a composer, known for Drei und eine halbe Portion (1985), Kummeli Kultakuume (1997) and S.P.U.N.G (2002). He was married to Barbara. He died on October 17, 2025 in Grünwald, Bavaria, Germany.

- At the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Meinunger was responsible not only for the lyrics of the German entry, but also for the Swiss entry, "Cool Vibes" by Vanilla Ninja. Both songs were composed by David Brandes. While "Cool Vibes" achieved eighth place in the final, Switzerland's best result since 1993, Run & Hide finished in 24th place, thus finishing last.
- In his private life, Meinunger, who holds a doctorate in agricultural sciences, led a rather secluded life. He lived with his wife Barbara in Grünwald and loved playing golf. One of his closest friends was Eurovision legend Ralph Siegel.
- With the song "So bist du," Meinunger helped, among others, Peter Maffay achieve his final breakthrough. The song was named the best-selling single of the year in Germany. And it remained the singer's last number one hit to date.
- Bernd Meinunger was a German lyricist and record producer (with Hanne Haller) who frequently worked with Ralph Siegel and David Brandes. Several of his songs have represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest.
- For many pop artists, Meinunger was a true legend. With over 5,500 released songs and a total of 400 gold and platinum awards, Meinunger was one of Germany's most successful composers.
