Leslie Carter

Overview

Leslie Barbara Carter was born on June 6, 1986, in Tampa, Florida, into the family of Robert Gene Carter (aka Robert Carter) and his wife Jane Elizabeth Carter (née Spaulding) and become the third of their five children. Her parents were divorced in 2003 after more than 20 years of marriage. Leslie had older brother Nick Carter (b. 1980), older sister Bobbie Jean Carter (b. 1982), and twin younger brother and sister Aaron Carter and Angel Carter (b. 1987). With her four siblings she participated in the family rally show House of Carters (2006). Also had three half-siblings: sister Virginia Marie (b. 1972, from her father's first marriage) and brother Kaden (b. 2005) and sister Taelyn (from her father's third and current marriage to Ginger Carter).

In September 2008, Leslie married her longtime boyfriend Mike Ashton, and in April 2011 they gave birth to their only child, a daughter named Alyssa Jane Ashton. She died at age 25 on January 31, 2012, from an accidental prescription drug overdose in the home her father, stepmother and half-brother and sister in Westfield, New York. She was survived by her father, mother, stepmother, seven siblings, husband of almost four years and 10-month-old daughter.

Shortly before her death, she began to suffer from bipolar disorder and had taken many different medications for the treatment of this, on which she had become too dependent. On January 31, 2012, she died at age 25 of an accidental prescription drug overdose in the home of her father, stepmother and half-brother and sister that in Westfield, New York and was found dead by her father. She left her 10-month-old daughter, Alyssa, behind.
Older sister of Aaron Carter, Angel Carter, also older half-sister of Kaden Carter, and older step-sister Taelyn Dobson. Younger sister of Nick Carter, Bobbie Jean Carter and younger half-sister of Ginger Lee Carter.
