Christophe de Ponfilly was born on 5 January 1950 in Paris, France. He was a director and cinematographer, known for The Soldier's Star (2006), Les combattants de l'insolence (1985) and La folle équipée: Le premier tour du monde en U.L.M., 1984-1987 (1988). He was married to Rim Turki and Florence Dauchez. He died on 16 May 2006 in Rambouillet, Yvelines, France.
