Biography

Douglas Gresham was born in November 1945 in New York, USA. He is a producer and actor, known for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).

Though his mother converted to Christianity, much of his family is of Jewish descent. While Douglas is still a devout Christian, his brother David returned to Judaism after the death of their mother. Their stepfather, C. S. Lewis, helped David with his return to Judaism, even consulting with one of his Oxford colleagues, the Jewish History scholar Cecil Roth, to find kosher food and religious services for the boy.

Stepson of C.S. Lewis and son of Joy Davidman (whose married name was Gresham).

His parents divorced when he was young. He lived with his mother and after her death, with his step-father.

Has a brother named David Gresham

Appears as a character in William Nicholson's play "Shadowlands". He is played by Joseph Mazzello in the film version, directed by Richard Attenborough. Curiously, the film completely elides the character of his brother, David, though he was in the play.
