Stefan Gjorgievski

Stefan Gjorgievski, MSC, is a cinematographer from Bitola, Macedonia, the home of the prestigious Cinematographers’ Film Festival "Manaki Brothers." He is a member of the Macedonian Society of Cinematographers (MSC). He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Film and TV Cinematography at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje, where he now works as demonstrator in the Cinematography program. He is a 2025 mentee of the ASC Vision Mentorship Program, a professional development initiative by the American Society of Cinematographers dedicated to supporting emerging voices in the craft of cinematography. His notable work, the short film Mavera (2023), received a Special Mention for Cinematography at the "Manaki Brothers" Cinematographers’ Film Festival, awarded by the head of the jury, cinematographer Peter Bijou. The film was also selected for the official competition at the Tirana International Film Festival, an Oscar-qualifying festival, and won the "Danco Cevreski" Award at the Dzirni Film Festival. Most recently, he served as cinematographer and co-producer of the experimental short film LIMA (2025), selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. In 2024, he participated in Sarajevo Talents - Camera Studio during the Sarajevo Film Festival. Gjorgievski’s visual approach is marked by atmospheric depth, blending naturalistic light with stylized compositions to evoke emotional and psychological nuance. His lighting often feels organic yet expressionistic, creating images grounded in reality but heightened in mood and tone. His work draws viewers into spaces where emotion and meaning emerge through carefully lit and composed frames, reflecting the inner world of the characters and the narrative arc, guided by a personal visual sensibility that continues to evolve with each project.
