Simon Williamson is a DOP / Cinematographer who brings a passion for creating a connection between the screen and the viewer through a love of visual storytelling. He began his career in the creative industries as a music producer and DJ, releasing music on vinyl and CD, alongside DJ slots at festivals across the world.
Having only picked up a camera later in life, Simon taught himself how to use cameras and filmmaking in his spare time. Picking up work as a runner, then working as a cam op, videographer and editor, before a passion for narrative storytelling steered him towards Cinematography. When Simon was accepted on a Cinematography course with the Sean Connery Talent Lab, as part of NFTS Scotland, this proved a pivotal moment for Simon to understand where to take his career. Simon like to play with light, often taking light away and working with the shadows, he enjoys a dynamic visual approach using a combination of creative thoughts and technical knowledge.
