Jacob Simmons(II)

Jacob Austin Simmons was born on December 10, 1998, in Memphis, Tennessee. Originally trying to find his footing as a fledgling director, he crafted and attempted to produce three no-budget shorts before joining a Mississippi film program in late 2017. Less than a year after becoming a member he had completed principal photography for his upcoming directorial debut, a short film titled "Immovable", and in the following months has been a camera operator and story consultant for other projects in the area. Wanting to branch out further, Jacob began to try his hand at acting in addition to other crew roles. His co-leading part as Levi in "Wayward Son", a short drama directed by friend and collaborator Arnold Edwards II, was selected as a finalist in the 2018 Memphis Film Prize competition. Apart from narrative filmmaking and acting, Jacob also films weddings and produces other work for local clients.
