  • Yiwen Cao cares about environmental protection, women's awakening and human's common profits. Her first directing long film Whats' next? was selected by 2025 Berlin International Film Festival forum main program. And she is the first director selected by the biggest three European film festivals (Berlin, Cannes, Venice) by using AI feature. Cao's previous short film "Release" Nuclear Contaminated Water won Best Animation Award of 2024 Cannes International Film Festival's Animation Day, and also was nominated by Venice International Film Festival's Animation Day, and some Canadian Screen Award Qualifying festivals, like Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival and Montreal International Animation Film Festival. Her short film Invisible War also was selected by Venice International Film Festival's Animation Day. And her short documentary Invader and Defender was nominated by BAFTA Qualifying festival Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. In short, She believes that film is a strong media to give people power. And she wants her audiences to benefit from her and then enhance their own lives. Thus, she always put some prophecies in her films.
