Biography

Michael Eklund was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He is known for The Call (2013), Errors of the Human Body (2012) and Eadweard (2015). He was previously married to Megan Bennett.

Known for disappearing into every role and radically transforming his look for each new character.

Michael is of Swedish descent.

He studied to be an artist at the Alberta College of Art.

[on playing the troubled bartender in 'Ferocious'] Eric is a darker character with a lot of humour and a lot of sadness and a lot of humanity, which is what I look for in my character. He's not a bad guy, he's more of the guy that got left behind and had a lot of heartache. I like playing characters with internal problems. So when I see [one] like that it jumps out on me, and I get all excited like a kid, to figure him out.

[on playing Michael Foster, a killer, in 'The Call'] It's a dark film, a very dark character. I did a lot of research on serial killers and people who are sick. I approached it from that angle, as someone who has an addiction and can't help what they have to do, but they do it anyway.
