She has three brothers named Abdhuallh, Abu Bakker and Ali. Her brother Abdullah is also an actor.

Mother name is Najma Khan.

Kushboo's father use to visit Jaya Chakravarthy's (Hema Malini mother) house with his eldest son. He was trying to get him roles in movies. One day he casually stated he also had a daughter. Jaya stated she would like to see her. Upon meeting Kushboo she was extremely happy. She immediately recommended her to Ravi Chopra who signed her for The Burning Train.

Raj Kapoor had signed Khushboo for Ram Teri Ganga Malin and did a photo shoot. Raj Kapoor was happy and was going to launch her. But later realized that Khushboo would look too young in the portions where she would be holding a baby.

Khushboo was going to be launched with the film Lava. She would appear in the flashback portions are Rajiv Kapoor's ex girlfriend. But later the producer thought this would not be the right launch for Khushboo. After shooting the scene's they decided to remove the scene's.
