Deborah "Debbie" A. Burton (born Deborah A. Brock in 1976, in Oregon, USA) is an American actress, director, producer, cinematographer, and editor.
Burton began her filmmaking career in 2017 at the age of 41, quickly establishing herself as a multi-talented creative both in front of and behind the camera. She is best known for her role as "Debbie" in The Perfect Game Series, and for her work as a cinematographer and editor on promotional and event videos for All’s Faire in Washington State. She has also supported numerous independent productions, appearing as an extra in projects such as Silence and Paranormal Investigators, while remaining actively involved in local filmmaking communities.
Raised in Oregon, Burton developed a deep passion for learning at a young age, particularly in animal science and genetics. She was heavily involved in 4-H, participating in projects ranging from entomology to horsemanship, eventually serving as club president and earning multiple awards for leadership and achievement. Her lifelong love for animals led her to pursue an Associate’s degree in Animal Science and Horse Training/Barn Management from Linn-Benton Community College.
Burton later attended Oregon State University with aspirations of entering law and the Air Force JAG program, but was unable to continue due to health limitations. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law from the University of Maryland, while building a successful career in software asset management. During this time, she also worked as a horse ambulance crew member and trained horses for the show ring.
A devoted mother of four, Burton navigated major life transitions, including cross-country moves and single parenthood, before ultimately settling in Texas. After leaving her corporate career due to declining health, she faced significant challenges, including a diagnosis of Lyme disease and heart failure.
Despite these obstacles, Burton found her creative calling in filmmaking. What began as a casual idea among friends evolved into an independent production, where she taught herself writing, directing, camera operation, sound, and acting. The project grew into a 30-episode series, marking her official entry into the film industry.
Known for her resilience, determination, and passion for storytelling, Burton continues to pursue filmmaking while advocating for creativity in the face of adversity.
