Pang Ho-cheung is a Hong Kong writer-director whose work blends sharp social observation, dark humor, and emotional realism. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices of modern Hong Kong cinema, his films explore contemporary urban life with wit and empathy.
Pang began his career as a columnist and media writer in the 1990s before co-founding Making Film Productions Ltd. in 2001. He made his feature directorial debut with You Shoot, I Shoot (2001), which established his irreverent tone and precise sense of character. His subsequent works include Men Suddenly in Black (2003), Isabella (2006), which won the Silver Bear for Best Film Music at the Berlin International Film Festival, Exodus (2007), Dream Home (2010), Love in a Puff (2010), and Love in the Buff (2012).
Recognized for his distinctive voice within Hong Kong cinema, Pang's films often examine the intersections of intimacy, morality, and survival amid shifting cultural identities. Beyond directing, he has produced numerous features such as Lover's Discourse (2010), Missbehavior (2019), Dog Days (2016), and Apprentice (2016), broadening his engagement with both Asian and international film communities.
Now based in Canada, Pang continues to develop and produce cross-cultural film and media projects through Making Film Productions Ltd. and Epik Pictures Inc., fostering collaborations between Asian and North American creative talent.
