Javier Artigas is a screenwriter and director born in Valencia, Spain. He graduated in Audiovisual Communication at the University of Valencia (2008-2012) and took a Master's degree in script writing at the TAI School (2013-2014), in Madrid. He completes his training in the courses of language and film analysis, and script writing for horror films, both at the University of Valencia.
His first feature film as a writer and director, 'Keep Away from Fire', is financed through a crowdfunding campaign, is presented at the Malaga Film Festival after a screening in the Bravo Aarhus Film Festival (Denmark), and is released in theaters in 2019. It wins the Best Film award at the Mallorca Films Infest Author Film Festival and is currently available on Filmin, Prime Video and Netflix.
He also has worked as a music video director, including 'Butano y Amor' (finalist for Best Music Video at the 2021 Carles Santos Awards) and 'Alicia' (finalist for Best Music Video at the 2022 Monocicle Awards, at the National Music Video Contest of the Semana de Cine de Medina del Campo and at the MIN Awards), both for the band Amor Butano (Elefant Records).
In 2024, Artigas directed the short film 'HDA (historias de amor)' starring Mauro Cervera and Tània Fortea.
