David Worthen Brooks is an independent producer. Most recently, Brooks produced Misty Green (2026) (2026) alongside Chris Rock, Peter Rice and Victoria Thomas.
Brooks founded and led 20th Digital Studio (previously Fox Digital Studio), a division of Walt Disney Television, for fifteen years. The studio produced scores of features, several series and hundreds of shorts for platforms including Hulu, Netflix and Amazon, as well as FOX, FX, Freeform and Fox Sports, receiving recognition from Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and SXSW. Brooks also developed story-driven branded entertainment partnerships with companies and organizations including Mars, National Geographic and NASA.
A focus throughout Brooks' career has been discovering and developing new talent. He produced early-career projects with Constance Wu, Rob Savage, Thomas Middleditch, Josh Miller, Jessica Rothe, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Christopher Leone, Marc Evan Jackson and Josh Hartnett. More recently, he has produced short films as a pathway to feature development, working with writer-directors including Anna Zlokovic, Justin Harding, Brandon Espy, Carl Reid, Alexis Jacknow, Shal Ngo, Kelley Kali and Ben Steiner.
Brooks began his career as an award-winning editor, director and screenwriter, working with filmmakers including Tony Kaye, Ridley Scott, Spike Jonze, Paul Hunter, Leslie Dektor and Baz Luhrmann. Member (2001) marked his directorial debut, winning Best Short Film at the 2001 Hamptons International Film Festival and the International Cinematographers' New Filmmaker Award.
His work has also been recognized by D&AD, Sundance, the London International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, the One Show and the Clios, including a Cannes Lion with Mars for Bite Size Horror (2017).
A US/Brit, Brooks received his Bachelor of Science degree from MIT before earning a master's degree from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program.
