Alexis Bicât is a London-born director and writer. He is the director of the award-winning short film Romchyk (2025), an Oscar-, BAFTA- and BIFA-qualifying drama based on the true story of a young Ukrainian boy whose life is transformed by war. The film has won multiple international awards, screened worldwide, and was privately screened for Pope Francis.

Bicât is the founder of Parent Films, a production company behind a slate of nationwide theatrically released short films. His earlier work includes To Catch a Crow (2000) and Noise Control (2003), the latter starring Nick Moran. His films have screened extensively at international festivals and have been sold to network, cable and satellite broadcasters across the US, UK, Europe and Asia.

He began his career as an actor with Chipping Norton Theatre, performing leading roles in productions including Aladdin, Robin Hood and Ernie's Incredible Hallucinations, before appearing professionally on screen in Christmas Present (1985) and Inappropriate Behaviour (1987). Alongside acting, he trained as a musician, performing as a drummer and principle trumpet with the Oxford County Orchestra.

Bicât later directed the Raindance Film Festival and co-founded the London Screenings, at the time the third largest film market in the world. He was selected for the inaugural Berlinale Talent Campus, where he was mentored by filmmakers including Spike Lee, Wim Wenders, Stephen Frears, Mike Figgis and Dennis Hopper.

He subsequently moved to Los Angeles to develop his work further, collaborating with producers including Barry Hanson (The Long Good Friday (1980)) and Michael Wearing (Edge of Darkness (1985)), and working on set with actors including Angelina Jolie, Dennis Quaid, Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller, and Channing Tatum, as well as directors Stephen Sommers and Jan de Bont.
