Award winning and Emmy and BAFTA nominee composer who combines his activity for the concert hall, with the composition for film and TV.

Federico Jusid has composed the original soundtracks for over 60 feature films and 30 TV series, and his orchestral compositions have been performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls.

Among his most distinguished works for film and television is the score for The Secret in Their Eyes (El Secreto de Sus Ojos), directed by Juan José Campanella and winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. For this composition, Jusid received a Goya Award nomination for Best Original Music from the Spanish Film Academy. Other notable projects include the score for A Thousand Blows, a series created by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, starring Malachi Kirby, Francis Lovehall and Stephen Graham; as well as the music for A Gentleman in Moscow, featuring Ewan McGregor and directed by Sam Miller.

In 2022, Federico composed the score for The English (Amazon/BBC), a critically acclaimed Western drama starring Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer. His work on the series earned him a nomination for the International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) Award for Best Original Score for a Series, and more recently, a nomination for the 2023 BAFTA Award for Best Score: Fiction. Additionally, Indiewire named his score for The English as the best score of 2022.

Recently, Federico composed the soundtrack for the third season of the hit series The Head, directed by Jorge Dorado for the Max streaming platform, as well as the original music for The Eternaut, the new Netflix series based on the graphic novel by Héctor Germán Oesterheld. He has also scored several other films, including The Penguin Lessons and Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, He also contributed additional compositions to Exodus: Gods and Kings (directed by Ridley Scott), alongside Alberto Iglesias. In television, one of his most acclaimed works is the soundtrack for the Spanish series Isabel, for which he won several awards, including the International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) Award and the Reel Music Award. Continuing his work on TV, in 2025 he composed and performed the music for Manual para señoritas (Netflix), Land of Women (starring Eva Longoria), La Favorita (Mediaset España), the mini-documentary directed by Carles Tamayo Cómo cazar a un monstruo (Amazon Prime) and The Asunta Case (Netflix).

Other notable feature film scores by Federico include his compositions for Neruda; Yosi, the regretful Spy (seasons 1 and 2): Culpas trilogy (Culpa Mía, Culpa Tuya, Culpa Nuestra); Loving Pablo; Misconduct; Kidnap and 7 Years, for which he was also the executive producer. The theatrical version of 7 Years was recently released in Spain, France, Greece, Argentina, and Mexico. Federico also composed the music for Cross the Line; The Summer We Lived; Life Itself; A Twelve Year Night; and the animated miniseries Watership Down, an ambitious BBC project for Netflix based on the classic British novel by Richard Adams. Jusid received an Emmy Award nomination for his score for Watership Down.

Among his most recent compositions for concert halls is Itinera 4.0 for low brass concertante and symphony orchestra, commissioned by the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain. His repertoire also includes Tango Rhapsody, a piece for two pianos and symphony orchestra commissioned by the Tiempo-Lechner duo for its premiere at the Martha Argerich Project, which has since been performed worldwide, including by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. Other notable compositions include Kinetic Overture, premiered by the RTVE Orchestra at the Monumental Theatre of Madrid; The Silence of Their Names, commissioned by the Victims of Terrorism Foundation and premiered at the National Music Auditorium of Madrid in March 2021; Bidaia, an accordion concerto dedicated to Iñaki Alberdi, premiered at the Colon Theatre by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires in 2022; Extimité, commissioned by the Spanish National Center for Music, premiered in 2018 at the Reina Sofía Art Center in Madrid; Enigmas, commissioned by the University of Alcalá de Henares for its V Centenary; Finding Sarasate, premiered at the Pablo Sarasate Centenary Tribute Concert; Danza de Aldeanos, commissioned by the National Center for Music Promotion (CNDM) for the bicentenary of the Prado Museum; and La Librería del Ingenioso Hidalgo, commissioned for the celebrations of the IV Centenary of Don Quixote.

Throughout his career, Federico has received over twenty international awards and nominations for both his concert and film scores, including First Prize at the Beethoven Piano Competition, First Prize at the A. Williams Piano Competition, and First Prize at the Friends of Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a three-time winner of the International Film Music Critics Awards (IFMCA) for Isabel and Carlos, Emperor King; a three-time nominee for the Platinum Film Awards (for Neruda, Magallanes, and A Twelve Year Night); and was named "Composer of the Year 2016" by the Spanish Music Critics Association. His score for The Summer We Lived was nominated for a Goya Award in 2021, and he was also nominated by IFMCA as Composer of the Year 2020. The Secret in Their Eyes, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, earned several international awards, including the Havana Film Festival and the Argentinean Academy Awards, as well as a Goya nomination. Federico has also received an Emmy nomination for his score for Watership Down and a BAFTA nomination for his work on The English.

As a pianist and conductor, Federico has performed as a soloist in some of the most prestigious halls in North America, Asia, and Europe, including Carnegie Weill Hall in New York, the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra House in Tel Aviv, and the National Auditorium of Madrid. From 2005 to 2015, he served as resident composer and pianist for the Sonor Ensemble. During this time, he toured throughout Spain, Europe, and Asia, performing both his own compositions and works from the classical repertoire. Additionally, Jusid has performed with world-renowned orchestras such as the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires, the Paris Sinfonietta, the Galician Symphony Orchestra, and the Spanish National Radio Orchestra, among others.
