Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, to renowned parents in the field of theater and acting-Pravin Joshi, a theater director, and Sarita Joshi, an accomplished actress-Ketki was destined for the world of performing arts. Commencing her acting journey with the film "Kissi Se Na Kehna" in 1983, Ketki quickly established herself as a notable presence in the industry. In 1990, she portrayed the character Ketki Dave in the movie "Dil," marking a pivotal moment in her burgeoning career. The late 1990s saw her in significant roles in films like "Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet" and "Mann."
