David Chevalier is a Toronto based art department professional and Directors Guild of Canada member with nearly three decades in film and television. He got his start in set construction and decoration on Toronto productions before moving into the art department proper, working his way up from apprentice on features like A Cool, Dry Place and John Woo's Blackjack to Second Assistant Art Director by the end of Total Recall 2070 (Alliance/Atlantis). He went on to work as First and Second Assistant Art Director on major network productions including the two ADG-nominated Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot (NBC) and Hanssen (CBS), as well as The Nemesis Game (Lions Gate), which won Best Production Design at the New Zealand Film Awards.
Beyond the art department, Chevalier has produced, directed, and shot multi camera coverage of music and arts festivals, and his Associate Producer credit on Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter: Forever a Fighter (2024) earned Best World Documentary at the Harlem International Film Festival. He is a partner at Chevalier Thurling Inc., a creative and video production agency serving clients across Canada, the U.S., and the UK.
