Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Jan Doense is a Dutch producer, director, festival director and film distributor. He studied law at the University of Amsterdam and film at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy (NFTA), the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and the Binger Filmlab and is a graduate of the European Audiovisual Entrepeneurs (EAVE) Producers' Workshop. He began his career in film as a journalist, was the founding director of the Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam and has been the director of the International Film Festival Film by the Sea since 2019. In 2008 he was made a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Jan Doense alias Mr Horror made 2 short horror films which were meant as a gory spoof to the genre, The Great Rock n&#39; Roll Massacre Part 1 and 2. The short won the &quot;Press Price 3th Benelux Horror &amp; Science Fiction Smallfilm Festival&quot; in Tiel (The Netherlands) on March the 14th 1987.
