Biography

Jamey Scott is a sound professional, actively working as a Sound Supervisor, Sound Designer, and Re-recording Mixer on popular Hollywood feature films and streaming shows. Originally from Springfield Virginia, he moved to San Diego when he was 17, attended San Diego State University for a degree in music, and began his professional career as a composer and sound designer in the field of video games. In the 6 years working as the Audio Director for a prominent San Diego game developer called Presto Studios he designed musical and sonic soundscapes on over a dozen game titles. In his spare time, he worked on short animations for his friends and eventually honed his skills to the point of being able to work on independent short and feature films. Realizing his passion for sound design, Jamey moved to Los Angeles in 2003 with his family to focus more on this industry and move further into the goal of working on studio feature films. Along the way, he used his game audio skill-set to create unique sounds for evolutionary games such as Jak3 (2004), the Gears of War trilogy (2006-2012), Daxter (2006), and many other titles with top game developers such as Naughty Dog, Ready At Dawn, and Epic Games, eventually working in both games and film as opportunities in the film industry opened up. After 8 years of refining his craft in the world of independent films, he joined the union and began working on his first studio feature film Total Recall (2012), where he worked under the tutelage of Oscar-winning sound veteran Stephen Flick. From there, Jamey continued to work on feature films and eventually became a frequent call for many prestigious films, such as The Intern (2015), Baywatch (2017), Crawl (2019), Greenland (2020), Without Remorse (2021), and Thor Love and Thunder (2022). He has also worked on animated shorts such as the Oscar-winning Dear Basketball (2017) and Golden Reel-winning Age of Sail (2018), as well as Virtual Reality shorts like the Emmy-winning Pearl (2016) and television shows such as Raised by Wolves (2020-2022) and Lost Ollie (2022). He lives with his family in Burbank and continues to hone his craft and broaden his skill-set as more opportunities to express his artistry present themselves.
