Graduate of University of California Berkeley. Winner of MFA Oscar De LaRenta Scholarship to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Designed costumes for Berkeley Repertoire including The Oresteia, and The Maids. Winner of Best Play of the year 1993 for Dirty Work directed by Richard Corley at Arena Stage's black box Theatre. Interned at Arena Stage Theatre. Mentored by Oscar and TONI winner Costume Designer Paul Tazewell. Assistant Costume Designer for the first Latino sketch comedy show "House of Buggin," on Fox/ HBO starring John Leguizamo and Luiz Guzman. Created authentic Latino characters and designed modern styles of the 1990's. In 2005 collaborated as a fashion stylist with the late fashion editor Isabela Blow for Tatler UK. Achievements garnered positive press as Costume Designer on independent feature motion pictures in TONY, Variety, FHM magazine among others. Won various film festival awards and Oscar nominations on features with Oscar winning Directors and Producers Regina King for One Night in Miami, and Jonathan Sanger for Marshall starring Chadwick Boseman. Costume Designed on 1920s' period silent film era feature entitled Silent Life - the story of Rudolph Valentino that received positive press in news outlets.
Inspired to create story and character while leaving a positive impact on Latina American Filmmakers. Current focus on true stories of bilingual Latino/a characters for films and episodic series' in Mexico, Central America, and Puerto Rico. Now embarking on building these stories as a writer and producer. A published writer. Received accolades on UC Berkeley Senior Thesis to become the premise of a chapter published in Berkeley's theatre textbooks. In 2014, reported and wrote articles published in major news outlets covering The Congressional Hispanic Caucus. This marked a milestone into journalism while a member of President Obama's White House Press. In 2016, entertainment and arts articles were published in major media news outlets. They include Latin American filmmakers in Cuba and Mexico, and Latinos behind the scenes in Film and Television here in the US. Continue to pursue writing original stories inspired by true life events, and continuing Designing / Supervising.
