Biography

Grew up in Darien, Illinois, and attended Hinsdale South High School.

Younger brother Manu Raju reports for CNN in Washington, DC.

Former sports editor of the student paper at the University of Michigan, and worked as a freelance reporter for the Daily Herald in northern Illinois.

Was voted athlete of the year at his junior high school.
