Cristina Zumarraga is a Spanish producer and production manager with a distinguished career in film and television. She has received two Goya Awards for Best Production Management for Alatriste (2007), directed by Agustin Diaz Yanes, and Even the Rain (Tambien la lluvia, 2011), directed by Icíar Bollain. She has also received three additional nominations from the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
She is a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, the ACE Producers Network, and the European Producers Club (EPC). She also collaborates with CIMA Mentoring, an initiative supporting women working in the audiovisual industry.
In 2010, she founded Tormenta Films, producing titles such as Operation E (2012), directed by Miguel Courtois; En tierra extraña (2014), directed by Icíar Bollain; and The Warning (El aviso, 2018), directed by Daniel Calparsoro.
In 2017, she founded Tandem Films, where she has produced acclaimed feature films including You Shall Not Sleep (2018), The Unexpected (2019), Rosa's Wedding (2020), Nora (2020), Oliver's Universe (2022), and Lost & Found (Objetos, 2022).
Her recent productions include Close Your Eyes (Cerrar los ojos, 2023), directed by Victor Erice and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival; the Disney+ series The Roar of the Butterflies (2024); Birds (Pajaros, 2024), directed by Pau Dura; The Wailing (El llanto, 2024), winner of the Silver Shell for Best Director at the San Sebastian International Film Festival; The Arrival of the Son (La llegada del hijo, 2024); the Disney+ original series The Best Heart Attack of My Life (2025); Hamburg (2025), directed by Lino Escalera; and Notes for a Consented Fiction (2025), directed by Ana Serret.
She has also worked extensively in animation, producing The Great Adventure of the Lunnis and the Magic Book (2019), Turuleca the Hen (2020), winner of the Goya Award for Best Animated Feature, Turu and the Turulecos (2022), and SuperThings Rivals of Kaboom: Kazoom Power Seasons 1 and 2 (2024-2025). She is currently producing the feature film adaptation of SuperThings, scheduled for release in 2026.
