- Marina was born in Moscow and studied acting at the State Institute of Art and Theatre in Moscow. She graduated in 1986. She is now a well-known theatre actress in Russia, and she has played in 24 Russian movies for television and cinema. These included: "Valentin and Valentina", "Joys of the Youth", "Doubrovsky" "Along the Road with the Orchestra", "Limited Life", "Under the Northern Light" and "The Golden Fog."

Marina sang and danced as a child, her parents supported her every attempt to find her calling. The only thing they forced her to do was graduate from music school. At nine years old, Marina became fascinated with opera and dreamed of becoming an opera singer. A year later, she became fascinated with ballet and even applied to a choreographic school, but was not eligible due to her age. Her dream of becoming an actress still dominated. - In 1983 she started dating her acting mentor Oleg Tabakov, while he still was married to Lyudmila Krylova, whom she met two years earlier. She became pregnant by Tabakov but decided to terminate the pregnancy, the decision she later regretted about. They got married on March 17, 1994 following a 11-year-long affair, shortly after he finalized his divorce from first wife. They later welcomed two children together - a son Pavel Tabakov (b. August 1, 1995) and a daughter Maria Tabakova (b. April 7, 2006). They exchanged their vows in the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2003. On March 12, 2018, Tabakov died from heart attack following months long health issues at the age 82 - just 5 days before their 24th wedding anniversary.
