Gary M. Zuckerbrod

Gary Zuckerbrod is a highly respected veteran of the Hollywood casting community, capping off a distinguished 35 year career upon his retirement in 2024. Over more than three decades, his sharp eye for talent shaped major film and television projects including Pulp Fiction, Touched By an Angel, Without a Trace, and Rizzoli & Isles while his fierce advocacy permanently transformed the labor landscape for casting professionals. Beyond his creative achievements, Zuckerbrod was a pillar of industry leadership and a pioneering champion for workers' rights. He served two terms as the President of the Casting Society of America (CSA) from 2002 to 2004 and again in 2009. Zuckerbrod's most enduring legacy lies in his labor activism. As the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Unionization of Casting Directors and Casting Associates, he spearheaded the historic 2005 to 2006 drive that successfully organized Hollywood casting directors under the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Following that landmark victory, he continued to serve his peers for over a decade as the Television Casting Director Shop Steward and for six years as an elected Trustee on the Executive Board of Teamsters Local 399. Through these roles, he was instrumental in negotiating stronger contracts, securing critical wage increases for associates, and ensuring casting professionals received the dignity, respect, and workplace protections they deserved. He retired from the industry in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of creative excellence and systemic, lasting change for the Hollywood casting community.
