Aleksey Zolotnitskiy is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, master of voiceover and dubbing. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. From 1959, Aleksey studied at the Konstantin Stanislavski Theatre studio. At 16, he entered the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School at the Malyy Theatre and simultaneously enrolled in the Philology Department of Moscow State University. In 1967, he won a prize in the Young Actor-Reciter Competition. That same year, he graduated from the Shchepkin Theatre School, but never received a university degree because, after completing his studies at the theater school, he worked in his field for three years. He performed at the Mayakovskiy Theater and the Mossovet Theater. Since 1989, he has been a member of the Oleg Tabakov Theater troupe. Over the course of two decades, Aleksey Zolotnitskiy played hundreds of roles in classical and contemporary productions, but never stopped dubbing films.

He began acting in films in 1971. He gained fame in 1978 after playing the lead role of German Lebed' in the historical film Myatezhnyy «Orion» (1979). And his most popular film character is the butler Rogers in Ten Little Indians (1987). In the 2000s, he appeared on screen in television series.

In films, he is remembered for his role as Rogers in Ten Little Indians (1987) and as the main villain in the drama Poyezd do Bruklina (1998). However, he gained widespread recognition as a dubbing artist. His voice was used in Russian releases by such Hollywood stars as Anthony Hopkins, Alain Delon, and Robert De Niro.
He also graduated from the Shchepkin Theatre School, but never received a university degree from Moscow State University, as he was forced to work in his field for three years after completing his studies at the theater school.
In 2017, Zolotnitskiy suffered a stroke (he lost his speech and coordination). He had previously suffered a minor stroke in 2011, but continued acting.
He began dubbing films at the age of 15, working alongside his father, who was one of the pioneers of dubbing in the USSR.

My father studied with Sergei Eisenstein himself. He was a multifaceted talent. He wrote plays and, in his youth, poetry under the pseudonym Vyalov. He professed Imagism and was well acquainted with Sergei Esenin. He made films and worked on the theory and practice of dubbing.
