Biography

Paul D. Zimmerman was born on July 3, 1938 in New York, New York, USA. Paul D. was a writer, known for The King of Comedy (1982), Lovers and Liars (1979) and Consuming Passions (1988). Paul D. was married to Barbara. Paul D. died on March 2, 1993 in Princeton, New Jersey, USA.

Despite being politically progressive, he was a Republican delegate to the 1984 convention. He was the only man not to vote for Reagan. The purpose of his abstention was to bring attention to the possibilities of world peace and a nuclear freeze. His good friend Terry Jones of Monty Python has his delegate badge. Jones says he keeps the pass in a prominent place in his office to inspire him to live a courageous life.

He wrote interviews and movie reviews for Newsweek magazine.

He wrote for Sesame Street in the early 1970s. He created the character Herry Monster. Herry's personality was inspired by his first child, Ian.

Zimmerman claimed that New York journalists formed the National Society of Film Critics "to give an award every year to Ingmar Bergman and, in the years when he didn't have a picture, to Buñuel".

To a woman who remarked how much he looked like Jesus Christ "I know him. He's the one with the famous father."
