- Max Zilzer was born on November 23, 1868 in Budapest, Hungary. He was an actor, known for Woman in the Moon (1929), Ein Burschenlied aus Heidelberg (1930) and Das Geheimnis des Amerika-Docks (1919). He died on May 12, 1943 in Berlin, Germany.
- Max Zilzer was interrogated by the Gespapo when they found out that Wolfgang Zilzer took part in the US movie "Confessions of a Nazi Spy" (1939).
- During the sound film era of the 30s he only took part rarely in movies and he concentrated again to the theater.
- His first movie was "Die Wittenberger Nachtigal" (1913) and in the next years he impersonated support roles in movies like "Frau Annas Pilgerfahrt" (1915), "Carl und Carla" (1915), "Die Töchter des Herrn von Dornberg" (1918), "Das Ende vom Liede" (1919) and "Das Geheimnis des Amerika-Docks" (1919).
- When he returned from Cincinnati to Germany he continued his stage career in Berlin where he also came in touch with the film business.
- In the 20s followed other cinematical engagements for the productions "Die Augen der Welt" (20), "Der Stier von Olivera" (1921), "Luther" (1928), "Panik" (1928) and Fritz Lang's "Frau im Mond" (1929).
